WaterGroup has won the inaugural IoT Impact Award. The winner was announced at the ACOMMS Awards dinner on 19 July by IoTAA Chair Gavin Smith. WaterGroup’s MD Guenter Hauber-Davidson accepted the award. Kitty Flanagan was Master of Ceremonies.

WaterGroup’s winning entry detailed water and cost savings by deploying water monitoring devices across the ANU campus: smart metering for a fast return on investment. WaterGroup deployed over 180 water monitoring devices across the ANU campus in August 2016. It took only six weeks for approximately $300,000 and 57,000 kL in potential water usage savings to be identified.

IoTAA CEO Frank Zeichner said, “This award recognises companies that have positively impacted the adoption of the Internet of Things in the Australian economy. WaterGroup is a highly effective player and the perfect exemplar of how you need to collaborate when you’re in IoT.

“We had a great response to this, our first IoT award. Thanks to all those companies who took the time to nominate,” Frank Zeichner said.

WaterGroup is one of the largest integrated corporate water savings companies in Australia, a leader in smart metering (water and gas), leak detection, water loss and efficiency management, and capture and reuse.
